Chapter 6 Snippet—Breadcrumbs

Chapter 6—Breadcrumbs

Snippet from: Life Love Lessons- How to Discover Confidence Through Your Spiritual Journey

Hmm…how could I make this type of sales business work for me and be profitable?

After giving it some time, I put it out there to the Universe that something needed to change. My desire was to have more vendors and products to sell closer to home to make a prosperous living being a road rep.

Within a short period of time, I was working with a customer in Key West who mentioned a multi-vendor rep group that “couldn’t seem to keep a rep.” Since I was a buyer and had been to all of the major trade shows, I understood what a multi-vendor rep company was.

I wasn’t fully keen on the idea, as they take a cut of the vendor commission as a middleman, and the rep is the one doing the majority of the work. As with anything there are pluses and minuses, so with some parameters in agreement with the rep group I ventured forward.

Somehow, my sales breadcrumbs via the Universe were leading me in a positive direction. Magical!

Within a few years, after a lot of hard work, relationship building and following the crumbs, I had built a sales business from $100K to $2.5M annually.

I lived in my happy money—making bubble for five years. Most companies left me alone and I did my thing. Isn’t that nice when you are left alone like a grown up and can work your business and make money for yourself and others? A lot of that has to do with great leadership, which unfortunately changed in 2017.

In March of 2017, the large rep group decided to cut my territory in half. I won’t say I manifested this; however, I was aware that it could someday happen. Losing half my business that I worked so hard to build was extremely painful. Not only financially, but the rhythm I had going would change. I viewed my business like my baby that I was now having to give up after feeding and nurturing it for five years.

I wrote on a piece of paper from my favorite “I want to be like Barbie, that bitch has everything” notepad, “What is Next? 3-17-17.” I still have it on my bulletin board.

What happened in that next year? I started the path to become a success coach after a personal self-discovery journey to see how I could best serve and how I could use the skills I had acquired along with all the lessons and pain to help others. It led me to where I am now.

Late fall of 2018, I took online and virtual coaching classes and became a certified coach with World Coaching Institute (WCI).
